Deciding on a Personal Promotion Angle -Part 2

Personal Logos

If you are looking for a more professional look for your web page and your printed literature, rather than just putting your picture at the top and a lot of text underneath you might want to consider ordering a professionally designed logo. This can range up into the thousands of dollars, unless you do some Internet research. The average cost is in the $250 range but you can bargain shop.

A company called Logos A Million is offering a 5th year anniversary special price of 75% off with prices starting at $18, and GotLogos.com has as its prices starting at $25. Another company has recently opened a new division called Logos in a Box. They are offering logos for those on a tight budget at a cost of $99. But be careful since they do NOT offer identical products and services.

Here is how it works at Logos in a Box. You look through their pre-designed templates; you pick one that will work for you. Then you tell them what colors you want along with some minor modifications and your company name and voila. All of this can be completed on line in 48 hours or less. Other companies offer similar products with similar turn around time.

Be prepared by asking yourself some questions such as:

  • How much do I want to spend?
  • What do I want to portray?
  • What color or colors do I want?
  • Do I want it for the web or print or both?

Now locate several companies and compare what they offer. It is also important that you look at all of their information. Look at their web pages. Do they look professional? Are their previously created designs to your liking? Do you want to have a lot of input into the creation of your design or would you prefer to rely on their expertise? Then as with anyone that you might do business with, check their credentials.

Having completed everything, and with your shiny new logo in hand, place it on everything that you do so that everyone who sees it will automatically start to associate it with you and what you do. That includes web presence, flyers, letterhead, everything.
